Explore relationships between species
Symbiosis is an educational project: a curious look at the natural world, and at what happens when habitats are altered or destroyed. We think the world would be a better place if people took the time to walk into a forest simply to watch what goes on around them. That sense of wonder and empathy is what we hope to pass on. The aim is to show that species do not live in isolation, but are bound to one another by complex ecological relationships.
The dataset is small on purpose: we favour depth over breadth. Each species is linked to its neighbours through real, published ecological associations. For now we focus on birds, fungi and trees, though other kingdoms may well follow.
